Mibor
The MIBOR to one year is the reference most used in the mortgage loans to variable type. Coloquialmente can be defined as the type which the financial institutions they give money between themselves on the interbank market of Madrid. For it, it is natural that there adds a differential to itself the MIBOR to, since there the profit of the Bank is, the Bank receives money to the MIBOR and it is given to the MIBOR more by the differential, which is his profit.
He forms from the simple arithmetical average of the daily interest rates to which operations have crossed in term of one year on the interbank market, during the working days of the corresponding legal month. From the crossed operations there are excluded those realized to types clearly removed from the general keynote of the market.
The daily types form in turn the average types considered by the amount of the operations realized in this term during the day.
This type has a big volatile nature and it is very exact to the reality of the market.
The Mibor exists also for fixed-term deposits of six months, of three months …, but these are less used.
Although Mibor Hipotecario has stopped having the consideration of type of official reference of the mortgage market to the loans formalized with posteriority on January 1, 2000, there exists an important portfolio of living loans indexed to the above mentioned index.
