Big Brother
Nowadays the partnered these two words to a program of dubious social value (although I admit that I followed the first editions) where some energúmenos with a great desire for notoriety and ego grown so excessive, was insulted by the day and make edredoning at night, giving an excellent example of how NOT to behave. The program is named after a character mysterious and pervasive in the novel 1984 by George Orwell, excellent work that strongly recommend to all.
The novel was written in the late 40s, and it poses a future society Orwell (1984) split into two groups, members of the single party, living under repression, and a mass of poor people living in isolation from politics . "Big Brother" additional to any political character, is the guardian and supreme court, which monitors only almighty and tirelessly. Dominates the life and thought of the whole society, using various techniques, including the placement of cameras in all the rooms (hence the name of the program), putting up screens in all the houses that did not stop issuing propaganda of the party, the thought police, the chivatazos of its own citizens, etc ... The protagonist, Winston Smith, works at the Ministry of Truth and its mission is to rewrite history.
Fortunately, not Orwell was right on almost anything, and his novel became a great texts of literature, fiction, but nevertheless, to read it, we can recognize certain traits that have been met and that they should get the meat of chicken. Does the work that our friend Smith developed there as of today? Are there people who are dedicated to rewrite history and eliminate or modify the information passed to the present always seems better than the past?
In part it may seem that if, as, for example, when the INE public the CPI nobody block, in fact there are websites devoted to collecting data on their own and publish their actual CPI, reaching conclusions that tend to bend the increases in CPI published by the INE.
In fact our leaders do not need to stop accumulating newspaper clippings, save links to favorite articles with chicha and make notes of what is happening around us, that we do not do it by themselves. We do the maintenance work being alienated so docile and creyéndonos (or not) what we have. The only thing you should do is publish the data that interest them on a propaganda and the others do or not do so cryptic or biased. Anybody can give a link where there is a time series of monthly average price of petrol from January 2006 until today? Probably somebody in the forum will know what to find, but it is not an easy task.
A fairly recent example, a few months ago, when diesel was sold for 1.30 € / l and the barrel was $ 147, carriers made a "strike employer" (a concept as contradictory as military intelligence) that was closed in false by an agreement partnerships with the majority, and it is assumed that the state granted them some benefits. So much for everyone but:
Why last week that the barrel was $ 95 (-35%), and gasoline was sold for € 1.20 / l (-7.6%) did not came out to demonstrate against this? So the agreements are beneficial to those who arrived? What were those agreements?
Probably they are published in BOE, but the BOE is designed for anyone to read, except for a minority (cryptic publication)
Who is to blame? Does our being confident and a bit vague, or our rulers for not being honest?
I propose today to collect duties as links to news (eye to bias) where we can observe that contained more than one would be more disposed to the style of Orwell's Big Brother.
Clear example of a year ago 27-09-2007 - The Euribor has plateaued
And finally, we observers collecting news of the day:
- Will the crisis for the Santander shopping?
- From pessimism to euphoria perfume of speculative attack
- Interview with George Soros. The millionaire who wanted to be a philosopher
- The "hunger" sharpens the wit of money from banks and boxes
- Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley will be converted into commercial banks monitored by the Fed
